FAMILY MINISTRIES COORDINATOR

The Family Ministries Coordinator will work closely with the pastoral staff and Christian Nurture Board to plan and help implement family, young adult, youth and children’s ministry programmes. He/she will be directly responsible to the Senior Pastor, on behalf of the Board of Elders, in common pursuit of the church’s mission of “winning and building passionate, life-long followers of Jesus Christ.”

Hours and Remuneration:
This is a paid position for 15–20 hours per week, available from September 1, for an initial 10-month period, subject to successful completion of a three-month trial. The position could be combined with a seminary MDiv. internship. It may also eventually be extended by mutual agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping plan new and ongoing family, young adult, youth and children’s ministries within set budgets
  • In collaboration and consultation with church leaders and volunteers, leading and/or assisting in the implementation of related ministry programmes and initiatives
  • Helping nurture active spiritual growth and to facilitate strategic mission among familes, young adults, youth and children
  • Undertaking related administrative tasks
  • Attending staff and Christian Nurture Board meetings and prayer times
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A deep, growing personal faith in Jesus Christ
  • Agreement with the NAB Baptist Statement of Faith
  • Bible school/seminary experience
  • Continuing or recently completed studies in some form of Christian ministry
  • A passion for family ministries and an outward-looking desire to see people come to Christ
  • Ability to plan and implement effectively
  • Capacity to work as a teachable team player and to maintain healthy relationships with staff and volunteers
  • Willingness to work within flexible hours
